Total Depravity

We speak of the human race as being "Totally Depraved," at least those of us who are Augustinian, and not Armenian in our theology. But how exactly are we totally depraved?

It is from our ancestor, Adam. A literal human? The first of our kind, or a figurative story—a metaphor for the faith?

Are we sinful because:

(1) We sinned with Adam in the garden?

(2) We are sinful by our association with Adam?

(3) We are now sick (from something) because of Adam's disobedience—something was passed over, onto us?

(4) ...or something else?

Why am I sinful by nature?

Where is Your Heart Today?

I love You, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my
fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom
I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my
salvation, my stronghold.

Ps. 18:1–2

03—How Will Our "Post-Resurrection" Bodies differ from Adam's "Pre-Fall" Body?

Alternate Title: Thoughts on 1 Corinthians 15: How Sin Ultimately Unfolds For Good.

1. Adam had the choice to commit sin.

2. Adam had the ability to commit sin.

3. ...What else is a difference?

Glorious Conclusion (to attest to God's infinite brilliance in creating man with free will and still sovereignly allowing every aspect of His creation to bring Him glory):
Ultimately we must believe that a fallen, sin-saturated, corrupted body, which is then resurrected to glory is better than a body that never fell at all.

Because of the beauty and glory of redemption, God saw fit for the allowance of sin in His workmanship.

01—On The Atonement

Did Christ's Death Atone for ALL SIN?

If Yes—What then is Hell the penalty for, for the unbeliever?

If No—How do we understand that Christ died for the "sins of world?"—and other such texts: Isa53:6, Jn 3:15–16, 2Co 5:14–15, 1Tm 2:3–6, Tit 2:1, Heb 9:26, 1Jn 2:2, 1 Jn 4:14
